Alexandra Barkany joined Chenette, Litigation Boutique inc. at the dawn of 2024. Her career path began with a major independent Quebec firm, where she progressed from student to articling student at the Quebec Bar, then to civil and commercial litigation lawyer. She has been actively involved in a wide variety of cases, from researching and drafting procedures to representing clients before various judicial and administrative bodies.
Ms. Barkany’s practice focuses on medical liability, disciplinary and professional law, as well as defamation and media law.
Keen to contribute to social justice, Ms. Barkany sits on the boards of organizations working for causes close to her heart.
Ms. Barkany obtained a bachelor’s degree in law from the Université de Montréal, during which she participated in a student exchange program with the University of Bologna, Italy. She continued her legal studies at Université de Montréal at the Master’s level, while holding a position as a research assistant. Her master’s thesis focused on the legal framework of public denunciation in the health sector. She was called to the Quebec Bar in 2022.
